【1】Making Wedding rings!!-the first day

Finally!! we made our Wedding rings!!

At first, we considered to buy them at Tiffany, because of the Brand,
and also the main branch is in New York.
But when we entered there and saw some rings, we didn't feel so nice.
First of all, the shop stuffs were so mechanical.

I think, the process of choosing Wedding rings is a very precious moment.
But they even didn't smile and speak in an overbearing manner.
So I felt not good.

The second was that rings were mass produced.
I could see many same shape rings.
Ya! of course you can choose one whatever you like from many kinds of rings.

But probably somebody puts the same ring in the world.
What the special is just engraved "Tiffany & Co."

After that, we went back home and started looking for what kind of rings and
shops would suit for us.

We enterd the words "wedding ring" and "NY", then Googled it!!
Then, we found this site:

http://www.newyorkweddingring.com/prices-wedding-rings.htm

"Make your own wedding rings"

It sounds cool! right?
If we could make it by ourselves, it would be definitely just ours Wedding ring!

We didn't know if we can do it or not.
Because we have never made any jewelries nor we are not good at speaking English.
But we just tried asking.

First we met Sam who is an owner of the studio and also a teacher!
Our first impression to him was very nice! and looked very patient about our English.
So, we decided to make rings with Sam!!

At the first step, We had to decide the design and what materials we want to use.
We have changed a few ideas until deciding the final one.
At first, we thought up the design which was too difficult to make for us.
But we didn't give up what we wanted.

We wanted two tones color rings, using platinum and gold.
We wanted to engrave a clover on two rings.
And also we wanted to set the birth stone.

After we told what we wanted for ring design, Sam showed us the image picture.

When we saw that we both felt "Those are what we really want!!"

The first workshop was on Aug 29th.

Actually, we made an appointment with Sam at 10:00 a.m.
But we arrived late and started from 11:00a.m.

This is our materials.

We couldn't believe that we can make out a ring from those, at first.
The process was more complicated and difficult than our expectation.

Sam was clever with his fingers and be patient for continuously steady works.

Every step, we used tools which we had never seen.

Sam worked for us on a lot of parts because it was so difficult.

But we enjoyed seeing the process how the ring was made.

Usually, if you just want to make a simple ring, the workshop would finish in a day.

But as for us, it took two days to make it.
The first day, we finished at night!

It must have made Sam very tired.
